Paper is on its way!

What a wonderful day it has been! We received Edison's 7 month photos and medical update. He now weighs 17 pounds and 14 ounces - that is an excellent size for a Guatemalan baby. He has obviously had a haircut from the 5 month old pictures and he is already beginning to look like a little boy instead of a lump of baby. He actually has a neck now! Oh yeah, he is definitely meant to be ours because it still appears he is going to need glasses. That's okay! I just hope we can get him home soon to take him to the ophthalmologist who has treated Emily since she was 2 years old. The sooner we can get treatment, the better it will be for his vision.

The second great thing that happened today was that our I-797C left the office via Federal Express to travel to Guatemala overnight! How exciting is that? Soon, they will ask for our credit card information so we can pay for the DNA testing. I have never been so anxious to receive a bill!

I have purchased a few little gifts for Edison for Christmas. One I plan to take to him when we go visit in February. It is a little bitty blue blanket that is fleece on one side and silk on the other. It has a little brown toy horse head attached to it with a cute floppy mane. Two sides of the blanket have teething toys attached. The fleece side is monogrammed with the word "Neigh". Since we all love horses, we are introducing Edison early so hopefully he will enjoy them as much as the rest of us. If not, he is going to be pretty miserable because we spend a lot of time at the barn!

The other gift is a camoflauge hat and matching mittens trimmed with bright orange thread. They are adorable and should fit him next winter. I knew Paul would want him to have some camo as quickly as possible. Poor child - I hope he likes the outdoors because if he wants to spend time with his daddy, he is going to have to learn to hunt. Not really - Paul took a break from hunting while the girls were little. I am sure if need be, he will do the same for Eddy.

So these are my happy thoughts for the day - watch out - you never know what can happen from one day to the next when you are in the middle of an adoption!

We've been waiting how long ? ? ?

From the day we filled out our application for adoption (9/11/2007) to the day we picked up Edison's visa to come to the United States (9/11/2008) took exactly one year! Of my three pregnancies - this paper pregnancy was the longest and most stressful. Lilypie Waiting to adopt Ticker

I want to call my mom, but I don't know the country code - HELP!!

WE ARE OUT OF PGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days, we are thrilled to announce that our file is out of PGN. We now await Edison's new birth certificate with our names listed as his parents and the Final Adoption Decree. Our estimated travel date is late July!!!!!!!!! God is so good!!
