The Latest News...

The latest news I have heard is that Edison's birth certificate will be ready to pick up on Friday, August 1st. I am not even getting my hopes up this time because it just makes things that much harder when nothing happens.

I can't believe we are taking Emily to High School orientation tomorrow night! High School - it seems just yesterday that she began pre-school. She'll be off to college before we know it.

Paul took the girls to Kentucky Kingdom yesterday. We didn't plan a vacation this summer because we thought we were going to get Edison. Wishful thinking! Luckily, Paul's parents took them to Tennessee for a few days where they had lots of fun. My mom took them to the movies today. I can't believe it is almost time to go back to school!

My plan now is to take them somewhere for Fall Break. By then, our whole family should be together!! Gotta get back to work. Until next time....

Please, let me smash something into a wall !*#+!*#@

I am so angry! Edison's new birth certificate with our names was supposed to be issued last Monday. When the office staff went to pick it up, they were told to come back on Friday because the printer wasn't working.

I find out this morning, the day everything was supposed to be submitted to the American Embassy, that the government entity that issues birth certificates in Guatemala told our attorney that they need a transcript of the birthmother's interview.... WHAT? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? There is absolutely NO reason they should need a transcript of her interview!

They were given a legal copy of the Adoption Decree which indicates Edison's file has been through all the proper channels governing adoption in the country of Guatemala. The adoption decree states that WE are now his parents and that his name shall be changed from Eddy Alejandro Godinez-Sazo to Eddy Alejandro Underwood with Paul Underwood listed as his father and Dana Underwood listed as his mother!

The vital stat office indicated that after all the documents were submitted, it would take THREE weeks to register his file and an additional TEN days to receive a copy of his new birth certificate. I am sorry - this is getting ridiculous.

We were planning to travel to bring him home the last week of July or the first week of August. Now, it appears that we will not travel until the middle of September. I don't know how much more of this I can take! I know God has a plan - I wish he would speak to me and tell me what it is because that is the only thing I can think of that will give me some peace. It seems that anything that can happen to delay our file and his homecoming has occurred. I'm tired of our lives being in limbo waiting for this adoption to be final.

Edison has a mother, a father, two sisters, two sets of grandparents and two great-grandmothers, not to mention, aunts, uncles, cousins, a church family and googles of friends waiting for him. Please-just let him come HOME!

If you are reading this, please don't panic -- I am okay - I just needed to vent my frustration :-)

We've been waiting how long ? ? ?

From the day we filled out our application for adoption (9/11/2007) to the day we picked up Edison's visa to come to the United States (9/11/2008) took exactly one year! Of my three pregnancies - this paper pregnancy was the longest and most stressful. Lilypie Waiting to adopt Ticker

I want to call my mom, but I don't know the country code - HELP!!

Will he wink?????

WE ARE OUT OF PGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days, we are thrilled to announce that our file is out of PGN. We now await Edison's new birth certificate with our names listed as his parents and the Final Adoption Decree. Our estimated travel date is late July!!!!!!!!! God is so good!!
